If you’ve ever owned or lived with a pet, you already know the humor, joy, and companionship animals can bring into our lives.

Here are some reasons we suggest you spend your precious spare time with a fuzzy friend!

Owning a pet can:

– Help you lower cortisol (stress hormone) levels

– Decrease blood pressure

– Increase oxytocin and serotonin levels

– Increase physical activity, by taking a pet for a walk or riding a horse

– Improve mental health

– Teach children and other family members responsibility and empathy

Can’t have a pet?:

– Offer to watch a friend’s pet

– Volunteer at an animal shelter or a horse rescue

– Have a side hustle with Rover or Wag and get PAID to hang out with animals

– Watch animal videos (we personally recommend adding the word “silly” in front of any animal’s name and searching online)

– Go horseback riding at a local ranch
